Human Centered Design
Fall 2016, I had the opportunity to be part of a there member group for my Design Studio 1 class. The objective was to help streamline the flow of traffic during large-scale events that take place in the West Hollywood area.

West Hollywood has a rich and vibrant culture. Residents report that there is a strong sense of community in the area, and that the city has a great deal to offer. And if there’s one thing WeHo knows how to do, it’s throw a party. Between the Halloween Carnival, Pride Parade, et al, there’s always something fun to do and experience in WeHo. However, these world-famous events have a dark side, too. Days before and after each WeHo event, the normal hustle and bustle of the city comes to a complete halt. While thousands of people funnel into the city for parades, parties, and marathons, streets and businesses are closed, parking becomes incredibly difficult, and completing the simplest errand becomes next to impossible.

To streamline the flow of traffic during large-scale events that take place in the WeHo area, while also improving community relations between local business owners, law enforcement, visitors, and residents of the neighborhood.
Technology is particularly adept at easing the pain of logistical nightmares. WeHo is primed for an upgraded system that better manages the planning and execution of these events and will lessen the burden on its residents and guests.
The upgrade will be a mobile app for crowd control. It will help with community relations and traffic control. Along with assisting in WeHo events by providing party goers information and safety. This system will make West Hollywood a better place to conduct business, work, and live.
